Why Cassandra created it

A personal path into the fungal world.

My connection to mushrooms began in the woods—hiking through forests, learning to notice wild fungi, and pausing to photograph their intricate forms.

That curiosity grew into a desire to understand how fungi shape ecosystems, creativity, food, research, technology, and community. I created Heal With Mushrooms to learn alongside the people doing this work and to share their stories with a wider audience.

The podcast is both a personal field journal and a growing record of mushroom culture—rooted in observation, conversation, and time spent with people in the places where their work comes alive.
